BYD pauses in-vehicle camera functions to comply with China's privacy rules · TechNode
BYD vehicle users told ITHome on Thursday that the automaker has temporarily made its in-car camera feature Qianliyan unavailable. BYD explained that they are upgrading the feature to meet Chinese authorities’ requirement that visual data containing sensitive information can not be transferred out of the vehicle, in line with new privacy regulations. The company plans to reintroduce the feature in June. In a related move, Japanese carmaker Hitachi also announced the suspension of its remote photo feature on Wednesday.
