Iran, Iraq working 'closely' to probe Gen. Soleimani's assassination

This is the second time Iranian and Iraqi judicial experts convene to publicize their probe into the assassination of top Iranian military figure, General Qassem Soleimani.

Soleimani was the commander of IRGC’s Quds Force, which is in charge of conducting overseas operations.

He, together with Commander of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units Abu-Mahdi al-Mohandis, was killed in 2019 in a US air raid outside Baghdad Intl. Airport on a direct order from then-US President Donald Trump.

In November, Iraq hosted the first session of the joint committee on General Soleimani’s assassination. Based on the latest findings of the legal team, 120 people have been identified in connection with Soleimani’s assassination. Former US President Donald Trump tops the list.
