Fuel crisis exacerbates human sufferings in Yemen

As the fuel crisis in Yemen is taking its toll on the Yemeni economy amid the ongoing Saudi war and siege, Yemen’s Ministry of Oil officials held a press conference in the capital Sana’a to highlight the impacts of the crisis on service sectors and its contribution to the growing human suffering across Yemen.

The Saudi-led coalition continues to prevent the entry of oil ships into Yemeni ports. The officials condemned the United Nations’ silence toward the Saudi acts against Yemeni tankers.

Since the beginning of the Saudi war on Yemen in March 2015, the kingdom has maintained an all-out blockade on the country, depriving millions of civilians of their basic rights for life, and even preventing oil ships from entering Yemen. This has pushed the war-torn country to the brink of famine and has wrecked the health care system.
