Iranian FM in Baku for talks

Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has traveled to the Republic of Azerbaijan for talks on a range of bilateral and regional issues.

According to Tasnim news agency, heading a delegation, the top Iranian diplomat arrived in Baku on Wednesday morning for an official visit.

He is going to hold meetings with the Azeri president, foreign minister, parliament speaker and deputy prime minister.

Amirabdollahian is scheduled to hold talks with the neighboring country’s officials on ways to promote cooperation between Tehran and Baku and on the latest regional developments.

On Sunday, the top Iranian diplomat met with his Azeri counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov, on the sidelines of the 17th extraordinary session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers in Islamabad, Pakistan.

During the meeting, the two sides expressed their satisfaction with the growing trend of Tehran-Baku ties.
