Foods high in cholesterol are the main factors that contribute to high cholesterol levels in a person. This means that people who are not aware of the hidden danger of eating excessive amounts of these kinds of foods may have taken in vast helpings of saturated fats and cholesterol. Foods high in cholesterol are not necessarily fatty or greasy foods, although most, if not all, of these kinds of foods are high in cholesterol. Saturated fats of creamy foods eventually become cholesterol in the body.

Eggs, whether boiled, fried or scrambled are considered foods high in cholesterol. The yolk in the egg is the part with most cholesterol. Many pure dairy products such as cheeses, butter and fresh milk are also rich in saturated fats and cholesterol. Other foods high in cholesterol and saturated fats are kidneys and certain internal organs of beef and pork and the meats themselves. The animal products and by products play a great role in elevating the cholesterol levels in the human body.

Although foods high in cholesterol are dangerous in elevating a person’s LDL levels, there are also some aspects of these foods which may add to the health of the person. Eating minimal amounts of these foods is acceptable enough to keep the cholesterol levels in check.
