Many people are currently considering booking a Devon holiday cottage this year, but out of the hundreds on offer over the entire region, which ones do you start to look at first? Well, an easy way to start the decision process must be to see which cottages other people have booked before you. With some of these accommodations having taken loads of different online bookings each, there must be something special in these properties that means that people are constantly booking them, and coming back to book them time and time again. So just what are our most booked holiday cottages in Devon for you to choose from this year?
Well, our most popular holiday cottage at the moment is one known as Coast Cottage, in Shaldon situated on the South Devon Coast. Even though it is certainly a popular cottage, its really not that big. It will sleep either 3 adults or alternatively 2 adults and 2 children, in its one double bedroom and the bed settee in the living room. Theres a well equiped kitchen, of course, and for a small supplement the owner is happy for visiting holiday makers to even take with them their dogs on their annual holidays. No need to be parted from your dog nor the expense and hassle of kennels.
The cottage is an old fishermans cottage and is just a few steps from the beach and slipway. It is only a short, flat walk to the local amenities. The cottage is well equipped as you might expect and the comfortable lounge even has a living flame gas fire, maybe wonderful for those romantic winter evenings. Nearby there are a couple of beaches to visit, pubs to eat in, gardens and even a golf course.
Just behind Coast Cottage in terms of online bookings is Sowton Mill Cottage in Dunsford, Dartmoor National Park. Again, a small cottage sleeping only 4 adults, but it might not be suitable for toddlers as there is deep water just yards from the cottage. This is because the cottage is the converted part of a once working watermill, which makes the accommodation a bit unusual, which in turn might be the appeal to some people booking this accommodation.
Both bedrooms in Sowton Mill Cottage are twins, so the cottage is suitable for parties of friends as well as couples. There are some good pubs near by and it is only about 10 minutes to local fishing and golf facilities. A little further away, about 30 minutes from the cottage, you will find the seaside and horse riding plus rambling and various National Trust properties to visit.
These are just the most booked two cottages of the many Devon holiday cottages on offer and there is a an excellent choice of rental properties about, not just of smaller cottages such as these two, but there are also some much larger cottages on offer as well for larger parties. You can certainly be spoilt for choice not only in size of the cottages, but facilities and the exact location as well.
